Question

I was recently reading the "Waterline vs Full Hull" thread and it got me to thinking...
Has anyone done a diorama of a capsized ship?

It would be interesting to see what modelers could come up with for this subject.

but the Titanic didn't capsize, it broke and sank right side up for the most part.

what I'm think of is the ship rolls over where just the bottom hull is showing.
if you do a civilian ship you could have "rescue" ships nearby as well as
Zodiac type boats closer to the hull.

a warship could have oil and fire on the water and explosions in the water
around it.

that is just what I picture.

What do you see?

You mean something similar to USS Oklahoma capsized at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941?

Okay, the brain cells don't work as well as they used to, but I think it was ABC that had a galleon that was a half model. Galleon model on one side and a cut-away view of below decks on the other.

So, I think the answer is that someone has done it ... sort of. Definitely not a common item. My guess is that for full hull models with formers, it shouldn't be horribly difficult to do a capsized vessel
