Fred, I dont think it's permanent. Doc said the skin portion may heal up in 3 weeks or so. The nail area, six months.

Power tools scare me a bit ever since. Healthy fear/respect is probably a better description.

When I did my finger, they took out the stitches a week later, and I was back to normal tasks, with care. I had problems with the nail longer than six months. Let's hope the Doc is right

Well, I didn't have to have stitches. The entire piece was just lopped off.

Ouch Ray, hope you heal fast.

Try to remember to curl your fingers, and use the finger knuckles
to guide the knife blade like a rip fence on a table saw.
