No building for awhile

Well, yesterday, I was all proud and feeling cheffy. Working on cutting up some salad for dinner.

As I keep my knives sharp, I proved it. Took about 1/4 of my left index
finger, half of the nail and the nail bed right off. Quite messy.
It wouldn't stop bleeding, my wife wanted me to go to the ER, but I didnt feel like
waiting hours there, so off we went to the after hours clinic.
Fortunately, there was no one there.
I had forgotten how much silver nitrate burns when put on open wound!
As there was alot of open surface area, I did give a loud guttural noise.

So, it's maybe gonna be a few weeks before I get any building done.

We'll see!

Holy smokes, sir! When I did something like that, I could do normal things in about a week, as long as I was careful. I should have been careful before I did it.

Be careful, and look after yourself.

Yikes. So sorry to hear that. Rest up. And take your time getting back to it.

Did something similar to my thumb back in the 1980's. Good size chunk of flesh/meat with thumb prints removed.

All I can say, "There are easier ways to remove finger prints!".

Hope you can return to building soon.

Ray,

Ouch!! That's scary. As I get older and lose a bit of dexterity, it becomes even scarier. It could happen to any of us. I also try to take more care in using my garage woodshop tools than I did when I was younger. I wish for you a quick recovery.

ooff! I bet you never felt a thing though Ray. Been there, done that. Took me six months to recover when I chopped the end of my left thumb off. Take care my friend and a speedy recovery.
