I too remember the song and pencil drawing of a boy in a coonskin cap and a log. You remember more than I. It was on Captain Kangaroo, morning version between 1973-1974. That is best as I can narrow it down. I periodically wonder what the name of it was and where I can find all the words. It must have been a rerun if you remember it from the early 60s.
I would be interested in all the details that you might have to offer. Thanks. Suzanne |

I am trying to find the same songs! Another line to the song was "There must have been a thousand braves, but I was only I."
When I was a kid I had an LP of tall tales and am trying desperately to find the name of them so that I can listen to them all again. I know there was a story in there about Paul Bunyan and others as well. |
