That Dennis Jenkins book is a MASSIVE undertaking. On my to read list, and should get round to tackling it in oh 2014 or so and should last me till retirement

For an earlier version you could try and cut off the panel section in front of the wings. The X-15 was extended there. You do have to lengthen the chines, though.

it's the panel right before the wings where it spells "RCE".
