a poll of sorts

I read about this aircraft about a month ago or so. . .what a great find for the RAF Museum. Here's a question/observation I put forth to this forum:

How many folks here pronounce Claude Dornier's name in the French vs. German (Dor-nee-ay vs. Dor-neer)? Is there truly an official pronunciation? Growing up I always stressed the German bias, but now tend towards the French (his dad was French; mom Bavarian).

It's a shame they couldn't use the cradle but they got her mostly in one piece, now it's trying to stop what they did get from falling to pieces
