Glounsbury, regarding the slight x/y scale problem, I did notice a distortion in the wheels, they weren't truly round. I didn't bother to make any correction though. I just printed and started building, so I guess we'll see what happens.

cbg, when I was growing up, my Dad had 2 buses and one bettle on the driveway. He was a die-hard VW guy then. All the VW's in the driveway were early 70's. My first car was almost a late model 60's VW bus, but the deal fell through. Sure do like this Samba bus though. That would be my first choice for a VW.

The rear close-out wheel well piece has no attachment tabs, so I added some prior to cutting out. Sure made it a lot easier to attach.

Next, I wanted to lay in the bent-up Frames into the bottom of the Chassis. While the Frame itself fit into the Chassis nicely, a fit issue showed up in the front wheel well area. This problem was that the form of the chassis was not long enough to match the Frame.

A check of the front close-out wheel well piece showed that it was going to at least match the Frame profile.

This this would then suggest that the little strips that were glued onto the top of the Frame to finish the edges were proving to be an unwanted additional layer. Therefore, I removed one of these previously applied strips (see 'A') and trimmed back the front piece upto the line graphic on the Frame (see 'B') . This should shorten this up sufficiently to get the front of the Chassis to match the Frame in this area. The attached picture shows one part with these strips trimmed and removed while the other part is still unchanged.

Now I am glad that I sandwiched the wood in the Frame, I have lost no structure or shape to the Frame since removing the strip which otherwise would have been an issue.

The form of the chassis is now a good match to the Frame as can be seen in the photo.

The Frames were secured to the Chassis at all poins of contact except for the two at the back (in circles). I left this free for now as I am thinking that I may need some access and/or flexability here for installation of the engine later.

I jumped over to the waffle structure inside the van. It was fine until I tried to put in the top horizontal piece. It didn't fit properly as can be seen on the photo. I tried forcing it in, but it's just too much. The same fit problem is also evident in 2Kamser's thread, so it must be an error in the model.
