’80 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 4 dr Sedan

Dear colleagues,

I approach a new project from my dusty archive.

This is the extensive family of the GM A-body / G-body (1978-1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo / El Camino // Pontiac Grand Prix / LeMans / Bonneville // Oldsmobile Cutlass / Cutlass Supreme / Cutlass Cruiser // Buick Century / Regal / Grand National // GMC Caballero).

I have taken the ’80 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 4 dr Sedan as an example.

Side panels will have sandwich structure for fixing their rounded shape. The exterior color is yet not chosen.

P.S. My former projects:

I like the fact you're making what would be considered "family sedans" nice difference...

Though my heart leans toward a '72 Olds Cutlass longback with a 350 rocket (my first car).

As far as I live in Europe, I cannot embrace the whole charme, spirit and variety of US-cars. My liking to them is more theoretical, and it’s rather based on particular patterns, such as cinema, magazines and very rare classic car exibitions.
Generally, my interest in vehicles is very extensive, and it includes cars, vans and trucks of various makes and countries. But the classical US sedans of 60's-70's-80's take a very special place. Same are not produced anymore, now they are a part of technical history.

El Camino/Caballero are really pretty. If true, it's not easy to model a car I've never seen alive. They are absoluly not represented in our region! But I can try with use of photos of sufficient quality (there's no problem to find them).

P.S.
mchale:

I do remember I promissed to share my blueprints with you. I'll try in few days (sorry, I have a lot of job).

In reality, you have actually captured the essence of that automobile quite well. I had the unfortunate pleasure of seeing them everywhere. They were called s_it boxes most of the time. I do enjoy seeing the model though. I have an affinity for Russian designed aircraft and just about everything else Russia makes. There is the ability to see in the form why it was made the way it was.

I find it quite interesting to see this model and look forward to the build, as well as your interpretation of the car.

I'm wondering if your going to accurately model where the rear frame corrodes and breaks off. =)

I had 2 G body coupes. 2 W body coupes and I'm on my second W body sedan. Olds and now a Pontiac. =\

My father had a 77' and was pulled over by the cops one day. The officer queried him about the condition of the vehicle because the frame rotted through and broke off causing the bumper to hang down.

He responded with...

"I know, I bought it at Bob MacDonald Chev Olds."

The police let him go.
