These are the last days of white knuckle racing.
No cars covered in little fiddly bits of bodywork and wind splitters.
Much simpler car body designs and in my opinion,
much more exciting racing!

Give me Mansell, Lauda, Senna, Villeneuve and Prost any day of the week!
And don't get me started on Jim Clark, James Hunt, Jack Brabham....
X2

(I'd also add Fangio to Dave's list )

I was just 11 years old when Senna drove this MP4-4 Ninakmis is building in paper, but I'll never forget the emotion of those days. Those were the times when we didn't have even cable, and the only F1 we saw was through a special summary tv program. But it was just incredible to see him driving in any circuit. Specially in Monaco. (If I remember well he even used a mechanic -to the floor- gear box??)

Miss so much those times! In 1988-89 There was even a special article in a car magazine here featuring all the F1 champions and ending in a special review of the MP4-4 as a homage to "the last days of turbo".

After Senna I completely lost all interest in F1.

I just found a nice tribute video to this car made by an Italian fan:
YouTube - L'invincibile McLaren-Honda MP4/4 del 1988

Now.... as much as I love this MP4-4 (and will surely build it later thanks to Ninakmis link in the first post), I'm still looking for a Williams FW11 - Nigel Mansell's "red 5". It was the first paper car I built back in 1986 and would like to build it again.
