'1976 Bristol 603, the first vintage car in my gallery

Hi friends, here I start the first vintage car in my gallery, and the first British papermodel build, the '1976 Bristol 603 2dr sedan (my own blueprints design, like it always did).
Want to ask your opinion, what the colour would fit better?
I have some water-based paint compositions. IMHO, some pale shade would look better, like pale blue, pale green, pink, beige etc.

A Bristol, most excellent, a really underappreciated car. I've seen one in a light gunmetal gray metallic color that was beautiful. Will be following your build with great interest.

You have just become my hero! I was a member of the Bristol Owner's Club in the past. I love the cars.

The traditional colour for a Bristol is a dark blue with black or a sandy colour interior.

PS - I nearly spilt my early morning coffee when I saw the words " Bristol 603".

Will confirm that dk blue seems to be the most usual color, but that gunmetal one I saw was awesome. Have also seen a photo of one is a pale green (almost like the green on Russian aircraft interiors) that was really neat looking. Whichever, I'm just estatic to see one being done.

I have seen a few of these cars in silver with black interiors. The best looking one was in black with a light tan interior. This car also had the wheels from the Blenheim 3.

I shall follow this thread with interest. Great "British" vehicles and aircraft have been overlooked by the modelling community for too long. It is always the paper modellers that shine a light in the waste of subject matter for new models.

Dear Malachite,
It's a honor to me, to have a response from the UK.
I enjoy studying the automobile history, and getting to know more and more in that subject, and British cars do occupate an important position in there. Some 3-4 decades ago there were lots of British makes produced, but not anymore. I really regret that the domestic automobile industry of the UK died, just as a victum of globalisation [Rolls = BMW, Bentley = Volkswagen, Jag = Ford, etc], like the one in Russia too.
What about Bristol, I've never seen those cars alive, only at photos, but even thus they impress me a lot.

I think, I'll paint it in some unusual colour. Sure, it would look shocking if painted yellow (like a taxi cab) or pink (like the Elvis' Cadillac)... But this is just a papermodel... ???

I decided to paint it light green, and now prepare to build bodyshell:

Some parts look smudged because paint didn't dry up when I took this picture.
