Do not worry about it being a simple build for kids. There are some of us here that take simple models and make them into intricate ones. You come up with the simple design and someone may attempt to detail it. Now what about the rest of the taxis around the world models? See you around the forums.

At this time, I don't know how many taxis I will made (may be 6 or 9, 2 per page).
And I have selected those one :
(USA), Italy, France, India, Mexico, Great-Britain (and some other in Asia, Africa and South America...)

When I read your lines guys, I see that this car is an "affective car" (sorry, I don't kown if it is a good formulation in english...) and is a certainly part of USA history, may be like red bus in England.

Uyraell, may be you would be disapointed because this car (and the others) will be for young children, so they will have a very simple shape to be very simple to build.

Pardon my nowadays very rusty French.

A simple model will be a blessing for me Pat_Craft, because I'm only just starting out building in paper or card.
I'm like many here, a modeller who built plastic kits, but that was decades ago, and I've done little if any model building of any type since then.

I'll enjoy seeing the designs you come up with, Pat_Craft.

Genial and Respectful Regards, et Salut, Uyraell.

I have many things to do, and more important, but I couldn't resist to make 2 others taxis.
A french taxi, a 404 peugeot from Paris
An italian taxi, a Fiat 600 multipla from Milano
And the Checker taxi from New-York
All are at the same scale 1/43...

Sorry mbed2010, but I can't share those model yet, because there will be in my next papercrafts book. But, I certainly create side versions (for exemple the checker form San Francisco or the Fiat 600 from Genova) that I will share.

Ouch ... a church that I do vacation bible school decorations for is doing a New York theme this year. Lots of cabs that look somewhat like checker cabs in the literature, but I've not had luck finding one to build 3D. I print on overhead projector film, then project onto cardboard. Cut, Build, Paint.

If not the artwork, would you mind posting the silhouette? I can paint it myself after building it.

Here, you can find a very nice checker car, just a bit more complexe than mine, but more interresting for a paper modeler :
(Well, I prefer my painting...)
