Resumed work.

It's been a very long time since I worked on this build, but I'm on vacation this week, and I've completed the side pontoons and the grille. The side pontoons have been attached, and are being held in place with rubber bands as the glue dries.

Cutting and applying the silver coated cardboard "chrome" pieces is a lot of picky, tedious work. Also, after not having worked on this model for so long, it took a while to hit my stride again.

One more.

The rear.

I still need to build the rear bumper and the wheels, and make chrome trim for the hood scoop inlets.

This is a very abstract design, I LOVE it!!
It looks like a real car...but it looks like a paper model too.
Awesome.

...from the front (and rear) it almost has a "8-bit" look with its bulky boxed look.

I can hear the Cuban music already.

The model is now completed. The wheels roll on wooden axles. Each wheel is made from two discs of corrugated cardboard, with a lightweight cardboard tread strip, all covered with colored paper.

You've definitely got a very fine model there of an unusual automobile

i like it ! interesting approach.
a very cool way to construct a car, proportionally it looks just right, and i suspect the actual prototypes went through stages like this when they were built.

This really came out beautifully. I went back and reread the entire thread to refresh myself on all the steps in your process. Brilliant and unique style of model building. I really admire your work.
