Until you showed us your superb model, I hadn't paid much attention to jeeps later than the CJ model, but now I am beginning to notice YJs here and there, including a blue one that lives just a few doors away from me. Wondering about the model designations led me to these pages, which I am sure you are already very familiar: Jeep Body Codes (CJ, YJ, TJ, WJ, KJ, KW etc) - SA 4x4 Community Forum Jeep Model Designations (This one taught me something I should already have known about the "GP designation: "'G' indicated government issue; 'P' indicated an 80" wheelbase reconnaissance vehicle." And, of course, the old stand-by, Wikipedia: List of Jeep vehicles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Thanks for sharing your beautiful model jeep with us and for leading me to add to my knowledge of designations of military vehicles. Hey Boosed... Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Thanks for your interest in my Jeep project. And thanks to everyone for the kind words and support!
What can I say? I'm a "ship" guy and, while this is a fun build, I lose interest in it from time to time. So here is the only progress I've made on it for a while.Made up some rims and mocked up some tires. This is gonna take a while! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The tires were the part of the build that I have dreaded from the get go. So, I figured I'd get them out of the way so I could concentrate on the steering, engine, trans and transfer. But sadly, I believe I'm gonna go another route. I'm not satisfied with the way they are turning out.
