Good progress so far Don, I've built a few of these from Yamaha but haven't tried this one. The wheels look a bit tricky with the wire spokes..Look forward to see your finished model

I would recommend not to go with 80GSM as I have some sad memories with that...I built my first few models, an MT 01 and two versions of the R1 with thin paper and they started sagging after some time and they were beyond use later on. It really is worthwhile to invest in some quality paper to spare the grief.

hi people.
nazgul........ I cheat a little, and will laminate the spokes for this one and possibly the tyre sidewalls but use 80g for most build parts.
nice builds you have there
update pic........engine finished .left off gear shift, side stand, and kick start till the end...........working on exhaust now.......

Looking great so far Don! There is a spoke wheel tutorial thread you can see at
Another spoked wheels tutorial

hi people.
problems I have found with my build to date.
the exhaust port on the engine is behind the frame front down tube,
once fitted the exhaust fouls the radiator, the rear swinging arm pivot sections are too fat togo between the engine and the frame (had to crush them at this point) the indivdual items are good although I think the scale varies between part..the exhaust is quite a big bore.... an enjoyable build with basically only the wheels left to build now.
may be this is because it is a 'cheap plan' ...free...any one else found these sort of problems with 'free' plans?
my wife is doing Neuschwanstien castle..........also from canon I think and this is similar with ill-fitting parts.........
not a bash at quality so much as 'is this common among the free stuff'?
regards
don
