Will you put a padlock over the fuel tank? Just to discourage fuel thievery - that is a pretty common sight on heavy construction machinery, and to a casual observer, everything looks so real

the love the weathering/patina!,. is there any chance you can show in the future a step by step of the dusty look? and how you mix and apply your washes of color?

Calinous, thanks for the statement but, in this case, will not be necessary.
HMCS, I will indicate in the radiator as I do the weathering/patina. .................................................. ..... ooOoo ............................................. Starter motor, pump and power pack hydraulic system. Radiator, which still is not added to the model. I don’t like too much weathering, I prefer an aspect that gives the idea of using without looking like the model has been in the trash. For weathering, that I usually refer to as patina, I use pastel powder chalk converted to powder by sanding and applied with old brushes because they spoil with this use. You can see here as was the radiator after the patina application. |

Zé, What an amazing build this is. You keep amazing me. That radiator absolutely looks like a real one. And it's not just looking used but you also made it look like the steel material it actually is made from.
In Dutch we call it "stofuitdrukking", a term used in the world of painting, but it seems there's no good translation available. literally it would be "Expression of fabric" but one can also apply it to all other kinds of materials, like metals, fruit or glass. I just wanted to say your "stofuitdrukking" is absolutely great. |

Peter Taft and Paper Kosmonaut, many thanks by your words, are very encouraging for me to proceed with model building.
............................................... ooOoo .............................................. Before mounting the motor in place and also other equipment associated with it, I’ll mount the motor cover to checking that all equipment will fit inside it. I only make your paint when applying in the model. Last edited by Zé Reis; 02-19-2012 at 01:12 PM. |

Motor… in place, radiator... in place, already with piping.
I added a new device, the air intake and its connecting piping to the turbocharger. The yellow part of the air intake is removable in order to remove the engine cover and view the area of the engine. |

[/QUOTE] sweet! thank you so much for this info!,.. do you "fix" it with a spray? i noticed some times when clear coating the model it destroys the chalk,.. then again if is "ground in" to the acrylic paint the spray damage is minimal I love this build! you doing a great job! |
