I agree wholeheartedly with that. It wasn't so much I wanted to keep this build simple on purpose but as I said, when getting involved in a build it tends to grow on me and I just want to add more detail. The redo took me just as long as the original one to build, so it wasn't much of a hassle, really.

But your effort paid back. The model became alive.

Hello,

on the site papiermodelle.de, there is a (dead) link to another sno-cat, used by the belgians.
LKWs & Co - Papercraft, Basteln, Origami, Bastelbgen und Paper Models zum Ausschneiden

As I recently check, the wayback machine have the pages on archive. As for the designer, I had alreay try to contact, because of a intended polar exploration series in papermodels, but never had a reply.

By the way, your sno-cat is simply fantastic! Very well done indeed!

Best cumpliments,

G_Mendes

It's finished!

Well, here it is. I had little time the past week, so it took a bit longer than I anticipated. Anyway, the last leg was quite fast. I made the last pontoon in 40 minutes or so, (things speed up a lot when you finally know how to do it) and while it dried, I did the greeblies like the antennas and the periscope only (B) seemed to carry. The headlights were made of two blunt ends of cocktail sticks, sanded conical on one side. The diorama piece was a little modified to fit the pontoons in a better way to lok like the photographs I have seen. The surface was given a layer of gypsum to let the pontoons sink in to and when I had deciced where I wanted to place the Sno-Cat I added a very thin layer of powder over the still wet gypsum to get a more powdery structured top layer. Then there was some photographs to make. ( I held the diorama in front of the window - there's a nice clear blue winter sky here now.) So here they are, the final pictures of my Sno-Cat. I hope you like them.
Thanks for looking!
