You're touching a point I also like to stress to other people, specially to non-modelers and now to myself, that I'm retired. Modeling is an easy way to learn something new everyday. We live on a society overflowing with information (I would rather say widespread use of reality shows...), but little knowledge transmission (learning).

You don't have to first retire, of course. (-;
Knowledge is just one click away. Sometimes I get stuck in Wikipedia for more than an hour, hopping from article to article with all the given links. (I have to admit, I am kind of a nerd, being a sponge sucking up (useless) knowledge anytime I can.) |

Hope I didn't gave the impression I just woke up now. I have allways been interested to learn, my profession required constant learning. I went to the university at the age of 54. Unfortunally had to give due to serious illness. I was just expressing the fear that retirement might induce sluggishness.

Hey, Carlos, you certainly did not give me that impression. In my opinion, retirement is a time you finally have time again to develop your skills and knowledge further.
(I also could have stated you do not have to become a paper modeler first before starting to gather knowledge...) |

Hi Paper Kosmonaut:
Thart was also my point. I know people get terrified when they retire, as besides work they had no other interest. Best regards Carlos |

WOW PK... This has got to be one of you'r finest yet! The detailing is incredible. when I saw the final pics before seeing them enlarged I thought you were posting pics of the real thing. I'm still flabbergahsted at the scale you work in.

Thank you, Closet Astronaut! I too was pleased and somewhat amazed at the realness of the photos with that blue sky behind it. Funny thing is though that the smaller I work, the more I tend to lose myself in detailing...

Fantastic work - really nicely put together and presented. I went to the Science Museum in London last week and was amazed to find one of the original Trans-Antarctic Expedition Sno Cats on display. I took loads of photographs because it looked like such a perfect paper subject - and you have proved it - well done!

Tonyceri, could you post a few photos here of the original? I have photos of a replica, but would like to see one of the originals.
