Great ideas Uyraell! I wasn't thinking along those lines, but this car would really be perfect for those applications.

The repaint is all done now except for the "chrome" parts. I'm really itching to get going on this, but unfortunately I'm working 12 hr shifts all weekend and won't be able to finish the repaint and start cutting paper until Monday. I hope the build won't disappoint.

I look forward to the next steps on your model, Don, andI hope for some repaints as suggested by Uyraell.

Over in my lane, I am playing around with some "upgrades" to a toy tank based (roughly) on the Japanese Type 95 and having fun doing so.

The vintage decoupages from that site are nice, and some really interesting. I've enjoyed downloading many of them. But it is a pity the uploaded images in that site usually are low-resolution files difficult to work with in case one wants to edit them or enlarge them.

However with a couple of hours of work something can be done... sometimes.

By the way, the filename could indicate it is from the year 1945.

Another old-style download that may be of interest is the 1940's-style Batmobile, available via Papermau and the ProfessorPlastik website:

Here is first recolor. I'm pretty happy with it.

As you can see, I did a brown/beige scheme and this'll be the version I'll be building. On the original, the hood (bonnet) was the same color as the roof, but I decided the hood was going to match the body color instead, so I ended the dark brown at the window pillars. If it turns out to be a decent, buildable model, I'll probably do a restoration repaint also (Lt. blue, red, peach), and an overall olive green military staff car per Uyraell's suggestion (love that idea!). Doug's woody is a good idea too. I suppose the variations are endless.

I won't be starting the actual build until Monday, but I was eager to show off the repainted file. I think it's gonna be pretty cool.

Don RPS my friend, I'm touched my suggestion has found favour with you.
I like the cars of the era this one represents, and it had a "natural feel" to it as a good representation or "stand-in" as a staffcar.

I shall certainly enjoy building your recolour1 version.
My Thanks to you and the others who have spent so much effort and talent in bringing these early models back to life, as it were. Your talents, both individual and collective show well and are remarkable.

Kind and Respectful Regards Don RPS my friend, Uyraell.

Can't beast salmon and chocolate for that period look!

Your project is definitely gathering momentum, Don. Me like, too. And I look forward to the other repaints.
