I've uploaded the Automovil Moderno brown/beige repaint to the Vehicles category in the download section. If approved, it should show up later this morning. Have fun!

A nice model very well done. Some suggested the Graham, but when I look at it, I immediately see the late '30's Cadillac or LaSalle. Thanks for the pin hole trick, I never tought about that.

That's a good bet too, Cami. Very close. I was thinking the Graham because of the forward leaning grill, and the chrome vent strips/embellishments down the sides of the hood. I think Sr Vigara just picked and chose his favorite design elements from the cars of the time and made a composite vehicle - probably the very first card model customizer!

RPS Don, could you please post a scale shot of the Moderno-mobile?
From the photos I was thinking it was about 10" long, but I just double-checked, and earlier in the thread you said it was only 4.75"! Maybe a shot of it resting in your hand? Same request to you, mbed2010! Thanks! |

You are correct Art Deco - total length is 4 3/4 inches. I'm not able to take a photo now - at work , but I wanted to respond to your question.

Great job on this, RPS. One note I might offer about the smallish look of the wheels, beginning in the early 1940's, automobile designers, notably GM's Harley Earl, began to incorporate smaller wheel diameters into their designs as a way of making the cars look bigger. Big long cars were the order of the day and they looked even larger with the old 16" wheels replaced by 15" or even 14" wheels. It doesn't sound like much, but the change in the overall stance and appearance is definitely noticeable.
