As finishing details among other things I have to made side mirrors.
For fixing them to the frame I need some kind of brackets. I decided therefore to made tests for some different size of tubes in order to find the most suitable.
For this test I've used gummed cigarettes paper rolled on needles of various diameter.
The pictures are showing some of the results.
1. Wooden toothpick of 1.9 mm. made a tube of 2.2 mm.
2. SS needle of 0.8 mm. made a tube of 1.0 mm.
3. SS needle of 0.55 mm. made a tube of 0.7 mm.
I have decided to use tube number 2 for the brackets.
Compared to their size all tubes seem strong and very precise.
I pass this information as paper tubes can be very useful in a variety of models.

That's coming along very nicely, I like what you have done with the cigarette papers, I was too lazy to go that far and just used wire instead.

What are you planning to do once you finish the truck?

Now my model is completed.
It is long 364 mm. and the total weight is 124 grams.
I will now clean my desk and made plans for the next model.

Now my truck is completed, but I have not yet planned what to do next.
I'm tempted to make the low loader also designed by Chriess, it will complete well the just finished MAN.

My next project will be a low loader for my just completed truck.
Also this trailer is designed by Chriess It's made with only 400 parts vs. 475 parts of the truck. It's supposed to be simpler but just as nice.
Pictures are showing the real stuff, but mine will only be smaller and paper white.
I soon will start printing parts & instructions.

Well done and congratulations on a job well done. You've done a better job than I did with mine, I made a few mistakes putting mine together and had to glue the cab so that it can't be tilted to show the engine.

Good luck with the trailer, it looks like a fun model to build, I am going to build it to go with a second truck later in my build, but first i'm going to attempt a scratch-built one that I am almost ready to start.

I look forward to seeing how yours turns out, for a first effort you have done extremely well, once you have finished the trailer you will be more than ready to build the crane or the excavator.

I've also made some mistake in the early stage of the work that cause the build of the cabin to be much more complicated.
I was able with some changes and a lot of extra pieces to made it work. However I learned to proceed more carefully and understand the instructions before gluing the pieces together.
I've started on the low loader and I plan to post some first pictures later today.
