Blue/Silver A4 Red/Silver Letter Red/Silver A4 I don't have any A4 paper to test the margins so if someone who uses that size could let me know if they are okay I would appreciate it Also, do you think I should move these to the downloads section instead?

Hurst was creating "Glass Roofs" for quite some time, on any car.
It was a custom thing offered at their shops. I looked into it for a Ford Capri back in the mid 70s. I remember getting a quote of about $1200 for the conversion. Hurst would cut up your roof and install removable metal framed Glass panels. (Keep in mind, removable roof panels were already common on many sport cars...Corvettes, Fiats, etc) Pontiac hired Hurst to modify Transams and Grand Prixs with the glass panels. They were absolutely awful. The panels didn't fit well and they leaked liked crazy! The center roof strip was very wide...so wide in fact that I remember a GrandPrix with glass panels that weren't actually above your head. You had to bend your head towards the door to get under the roof opening! I always preferred a nice large sunroof or landau roof. Eventually GM designed their own panel roof and called it T-Roof ...the center strip was much narrower and the opening was more T shaped. But the early ones still leaked. And they were heavy. My 81 Camaro had T-roofs...very heavy, I never bothered removing them. My 85 Z28 had bigger Troofs that were much lighter but still awkward to stow. Another issue was the lack of proper strengthening when the roofs were cut. Without reinforced windshield pillars, the car flexed way too much. Like those scary aftermarket convertible modifications.

Hey, nice artwork on the Firebird!
I ordered one of these, when they were new (actually in '83) but I ended up buying a new Mazda instead (more options for less money). You do know that the '82 did not have the big Firebird hood decal? And the decal you used on this model is the shaker hood style decal. There is a redesigned bird that fits the Turbo hood. When the '81 model came out with the Turbo, and a new teardrop hood bulge (instead of the shaker scoop), it also came with a new Firebird decal that fit around the bulge. It was distinct that it had a large flame coming from the bird's beak. Anyway, the turbo style hood was carried over to the '82 model, but not the large hood decal. Instead they just used the small nose decal. I guess you could claim a "custom" hood...but its not factory. Still, a nice looking model. Well done.

I learn all kinds of interesting things here in the forums. Who knew there was that much going on behind the scenes just for hood decals?
Thanks for sharing that Dave. Little tidbits like that help to train my eye for detail when examining reference photos. Steve Quote:
