Thanks for all the great comments. I also put together a 'Blenderbuck' - basically this is a 'buck' that can be used as a basic shape (mirrored etc.) for any number of UK and US '60s and '70s saloon / fastback cars. Basically the intent is to match this to blueprints and manipulate. I use mostly TOP / RIGHT and 3/4 views in Blender.

Hi Ian,
While the 60's Brit cars have your interest, how's about the lesser curved Triumph Herald? I hope to start renovating a real one in the near future, and would love a paper model to experiment on with colour schemes. I plan on doing up a 13/60 Estate, but as the steel ones are easily parts swapped between saloon, coupé, conv, estate, van, and Vitesse, it shouldn't be hard to include parts for all variants in a paper model, and (for me) the 13/60 front end should be much easier to design in paper.

Hi,
In fact, yes, the Mk2 Escort is still alive, I just don't have much time for hobbies recently with my work schedule. On the positive side, I did spend time learning Blender, how to UV Map and Unwrap and simplify models for export to Pepakura, as what looks good in Blender does not always look good in paper without a lot of tweaking. Anyway, the two Escort models I have nearing completion (just UV Mapping) are the '79 1600 Mk 2 Harrier and Doyles '77 RS2000 from 'The Professionals". They pretty much done and will try to start the final paper protos in the next few weeks (yes, promises, promises). Here are some screenshots of the two cars ready for UV Mapping. I have a LOT of Blender cars I have been practicing on (best way to find out what works and what doesn't, so it has not been a complete waste of time. Hopefully I will still be able to contribute something useful to the Civilian Wheels forum in future, as I think this category is one of the hardest. Ian B. P.S. the Torino is for our American friends Harrier Doyles RS2000 Cortina 1600E Firenza |

Hi , new to the forum so please forgive any errors while I'm finding my way around. Picked up on this post about the Mk2 Escort is you template available for download please as I would love to explore this. I am keen to start designing some models myself ( I've done a few very basic things - nothing at this level of detail) and thought one of the best ways to learn is to build a few models first. My older brother had a Mk2 made to look like an rs2000 back in the 80's so thought I would love to have a closer look at your design if possible.
