Hi Peter,
No problem - thanks for sharing. "The Man Who Haunted Himself" - wasn't that a Roger Moore film? I am interested in most cars of the 60s and 70s. I lived in the UK as a kid - my father had a Rover SD1 and a Granada at some point. I am pretty slow when it comes to making models (mostly due to work), but it is enjoyable. It took me a year to learn Illustrator . I have a couple of models on the go similar to the Escort, w/ similar construction. One of them is a '69 Cortina 1600E, a particular favourite of mine. Ian B. I don't know why I like old British Fords so well, after all, I grew up in California. Maybe it's because I read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy when I was ten-years old, or because my Dad drove a RHD Consul in the late '50's (ten years before I was born) or because some people around the corner from us had a Cortina, so I thought of them as "exotic", but I've always liked them. I even came within a hair's breadth of buying an Anglia about 20 years ago.
Can't wait to see this one completed. |

I wish I still had my Mk2 Escort or indeed my Mk1 Fiesta (or both) |

Mk 2 Ford Escort
Hi.
Sorry for the delay. I work in aerospace (and am away - a lot). Not a lot of time for fun hobbies ATM..... Anyway, I built another Mk 2 proto w/ some additional details and tried to get panel fit better. It worked in some cases and not in others, so I'll build another proto. Here are some pics of the 2 models - I built an internal frame for the 2nd model for better structure. Everything is done in Illustrator. I mocked it up as an RS2000 to see what it looked like. A few more tweaks yet. Sorry about the lighting - it was late when I took these. Ian B. Gearhead |

Very nice. You are making very good use of the small amount of time you have to do this. Great work

Probably just the bare white model w/ a few wheel options. People can make what they want. Cheers, Ian B. |

As I see, you make it very similar to my technique. Good luck!
