Mk 2 Ford Escort

Not much time at the moment but a rough draft done. Need to make a few fitting adjustments (obviously ) and colour. The Mk 2 came in all guises from 1100 cc to the RS2000, so need to decide which model.....

I use Adobe Illustrator exclusively (as I like the programme).

Fantastic model, full of nostalgia.

Speaking as a "small boy" it has to be the RS2000!

Thank you very much for your comments . The car has no frame (which it needs for better rigidity) which I am working on now.

I have the colour scheming drawn up for an '79 Escort Harrier right now. The RS2000 is on the cards of course.

Cool!

Will this be available for download? If so, will an uncolored version be offered? I have a certain recolor in mind...

Hi, I will release the template uncoloured after I make more adjustments and am happy w/ it. I chose the Mk 2 Escort as it is an everyman's car and can be anything you want it to be. There are also all the rally models as well (Adobe Illustrator makes decal reproduction fairly straight-forward).

I have attached an excerpt of the template coloured as a '79-80 Escort Harrier (limited edition 1600).

Thumbs up

Very nice to see someone doing this One of my favourite cars, and one of the first i got to drive. If you ever feel the desire to design a Ford Cortina Mk III this would have me smiling from ear to ear - the version with the four separate round headlights as opposed to the rectangular ones used on the Mk IV. Great work

We had the MkI and it was the first car I ever drove. Great to see Escort model to surface in paper too. I'd love to have a rally version too, like the one in the photo. 1978 RAC Rally winner driven by Finnish driver Hannu Mikkola.
