I noticed you have the Revell plastic model there. According to some comments on Spotlight Hobbies model car board the Revell kit is a little under 1/25. Several people compared it with the new Mobius tv Batmobile and it was obviously smaller. The Mobius kit scaled out correctly for wheelbase.

The Revell kit is indeed a bit small, as it was actually what they used to call "box scale", made to fit into Revell's existing box sizing in the 1950's. This is also why you end up with odd scales like 1:27 (Wright Flyer) or 1:50 for old airplane kits.

I'll be looking forward to seeing this Lincoln Futura emerge as a paper model.
It's a model I always wanted to have, even as a youngster. This is a development I shall be watching with great interest. Thank you Mbed2010 my friend, for choosing such a rare model to design and build. Kind and Respectful Regards Mbed2010 my friend, Uyraell.

whulsey, The TV Batmobile is Polar-Lights division of Round2, sister to AMT & MPC.
The Mobius Bat is that Darn tank from the Dark Knight series. Mobius also has the "Pod" motorcycle from that last one & the new one coming I know, I have both the Snap Pre-decorated, & Glue kits of the TV Batmobile!!! Still waiting on the Deluxe version with Photo-etch & Penquin parts!! I am waiting for this one!!! Love that Futura Hope you do a Red version too. Not just from the Movie, but a "Viper" episode!!!!

Dan, you're correcty on the TV Batmobile. Lost track of who was doing what and who owns who. I'm always getting Polar Lights and Mobius confused since didn't they both start with doing Aurora repops?
Something I find sort of amusing is that for as many years as the Futura kit had been out no one that I know of ever scaled it to see if it actually was 1/25 as claimed. Now a new kit comes out and people are all over it with calipers and micrometers, back then it was 'oh looks cool'. The days of lost innocence! |

Actually, as I undertand it, the Lincoln Futura was rebuilt INTO the Batmobile of the 1960's Batman TV series! "Atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed!"
