Project Car Build

Hi,

Back for a few weeks before being off for work again. It is extremely humid here now, which is not great for paper-modeling, but there should be a little time before it becomes impossible.

How about a thread where you can find / design / build a model of a particular car based on a theme? This can be a particular make / model or subject and can be as simple or complex as you want it to be - just as long as there is something to post, no matter what skill level.

My vote would be for a 'film / movie cars' theme, as this is very broad. I have been working on a red '71 Mustang from 'Diamonds Are Forever' in Illustrator for a while and will try to have an initial proto in 2 weeks (as time allows). I would very much like to see all kinds of models at all skill levels from members.

Cheers,

Gearhead

Project Car Build

Here is the current proto of the 'Diamonds Are Forever' Ford Mustang. Scale is either 1/10 or 1/12 (not sure). I am using a different technique - much like building a boat - due to its size. Subframe could be more accurate , and needs a little cleaning up, but working well overall and major errors can be masked with details. I had to section into 3 (rear / doors / front fender) due to printer limits. All done in Adobe Illustrator, cardboard and coloured card / paper.

It's easy, you just click on the "New Thread" tag, type a title, and write the first post. Job done. Unless the moderators jump on ya for inspection, it should be up and running ... "Just like that!" as the late, great, Tommy Cooper used to say.

Johnny.
