Lancia Stratos GR5 Turbo

This is kind of a two part build, because I am building 2 of them. One is Oniya's SD GR5 (鬼屋へようこそ - Welcome to ONIYA -), the other is the more realistic version available here: http://www.saturn.dti.ne.jp/~eastern/pcraft/main.html#stratos_gr5

I already finished the Super deformed one:

More images are in the gallery here: SD Stratos Turbo.

Oniya did a lovely job, it literally fell together when you start building. Hardest part was the engine cover, with its little steps. Model is around 10cm long.

And here is the start of part 2, the realistic Stratos Turbo.

I started the same way as I did with the SD version, the roof, windshield and engine cover. The roof and windshield went together great, but the engine cover (the 4 red/green strips) can't go on just yet.

You actually need to do the rear of the car before that to get the places you need to glue the cover to. The air intakes are easy, just got to be careful you don't break/wear off the shapes. (Slightly more parts here could have helped though.)

Now you can add the roof to it, followed by the engine cover.

Next up is the front of the car:

Did find those, yeah. But doing those wouldn't be quirky enough for me.

In the meantime, I finished the body on the Stratos:

And here is the finished Stratos Turbo:

And together with Oniya's SD Stratos:

All in all, a very nice model, though it could do with a bit more chassis reinforcement. Fiddliest part were the wing mirrors.

More in progress pictures are in the gallety on my website, as linked earlier.

Looks good, the angular shapes of the car are perfect for paper.
