New Vintage-style Series

Just wanted to offer a preview of what I've been working on for the past couple of weeks. This is the first of what I'm planning as a whole series of vintage styled car models. The shapes are fairly basic, taking cues from old hand-drawn models, and I've tried to capture the long, low look of automotive advertisments from the '30's through '50's. The colors I'm using are reminiscent of the era, as well.

Very nice. Are they roughly Hot Wheelz/Matchbox size?

Yeah, VK, right around 1/64. I figured they would look best if I kept them small.

I too welcome these new vintage-style models.
I certainly like the look of the exemplar you've shown, and think the series you have planned is a fine concept. The circa 1:64 is a good scale choice also.

Thank you for sharing this new series , and committing to designing it.

Kind and Respectful Regards Pdmccool, Uyraell.

That is an exciting project and your first model looks great. The low roof line is reminiscing of the '40s Hudsons while the grille has some '42 Chevy style. Very clean design, I can not wait to see more.

@RPS and Uyraell, thanks, Guys!

@Cami-- Having been in awe of your work since I first discovered your NASCAR models, I have to say thank you very much. There is a bit of Hudson in these, but my main influences were late-'40's Buicks, early-'40's Fords and the Cord 810. The Woody Wagon I kind of cribbed from an old photo I saw once of a Duesenberg Estate Wagon.

Can't wait to get a few more to this point, but I'm using the rather boxy wagon to figure out the chassis and assembly.

New models in vintage style, inspired by period ad graphics - that's a wonderful project concept! I am really looking forward to watching your series take shape! And it looks like you are off to a very promising start!
