The Moon Mixer
The next to present is the Moon Mixer with heavy modifications like an interior, rolling
wheels, clear windscreen and other gadgets. Well, the pictures speak for themselves. The last five pics are close-ups. So, enjoy the views. Papermate |

"amazing" Moon Mixer
So, what is the scale? Has it been enlarged at all? Give us a photo with scale reference please.

Very nice. My only major critique, would be to print the tires on plain cardstock so they
are flat instead of glossy.

Hi, Dave, thank you for your compliments. I didn't change the scale but built it as is.
When I get home from holiday in a couple of days, I'll post some more pic with scale as reference. And, Ray, thanks. I have thought of doing the tires as you said but was being lazy. Papermate |

You can find a clear mat finish to paint on the tires look at the better hobby stores.

I personally considered this the most finely crafted model of Dave's contest. It's nice to see a few more photos

Dave's Collection of Hot Wheels - Beatnik Bandit (with a Clear Canopy)
Collection of Dave's Kool Wheelz continues with the 1968 Hot Wheels Beatnik Bandit, one of Dave's collection of 16 hot wheels. This model comes with a clear canopy that's hard to come by. This is indeed a challenge, (1) to find the suitable material and then (2) to install it on the hot wheel.
I happened to shop around with a purpose for a clear bubble package and finally came to a home appliances shop and found one sink stopper in an acrylic package that matched what I needed. Of course, the stopper is of no use now. Have to explain a little here just in case you should find a similar clear bubble. As the body of the hot wheel has a cut out that's not circular but has four round "corners", when you trim the aforesaid clear acrylic bubble, make sure that you leave some extra margin at the "corners". Otherwise, there'll be gaps at the "corners" when the canopy is installed. Hope I can explain that clearly, if not, don't blame me as English is not my first language, haha! So here are the photos. |
