ABC AEC-K Model Omnibus

Hello Friends,

I needed a couple of buses for a diorama I am building here: Micromodels LS III "Terminal Station" Diorama. I picked this model up some time ago on one of our trips to Prague. I have rescaled it down from 4 A4 sheets to about 1:200.

I managed to use about 69 parts of the original kit for each bus. Using pictures of some old advertisements, I added different ones to each bus along with different line numbers and routes (one is picking up, the other dropping off). The hand rails are 0.20 inch copper wire.

Kind Regards,

Cris

Hello Friends,

Thank you so very much for your kind words and interest! I forgot to share a couple of reference photos in my first post. Here is a picture of one of the few surviving AEC-K's and a historical picture of several of them in front of Victoria Station in the early 1930's. Also, here is a link that describes this iconic London bus AEC K-type - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Kind Regards,

Cris

@Vermin: There are a few old book shops that you can rummage around in and a couple of the model shops sell paper models. There are three shops near old town only a few blocks from one another.

Little works of art in their own right.

I look forward to seeing the finished diorama?

Oh wow! Reminds me of the car collections at the Historical Village at Midmar Dam near Pietermaritzburg in Kwa-Zulu Natal South Africa. Sadly closed. Beautiful.
Thanks for bringing that back!
Best,
Phillip
