Reading one of my truck magazines this morning and they have an article of Faun. They had a fire truck in 1910 that was driven by electric hub motors. The article also mentions that Tilling Stevens in UK build a traction motor/gas engine bus in 1913. And of course in the US LeTourneau in the 50's developed electric hub motors for their earthmoving equipment and off-road dump trucks.
