Hello Friends,

Thank you for the kind words and comments! I also appreciate the help! Its a lot more fun (for me) when we have a bit of discussion

About the Hansom Cabs, I looked and researched and looked quite a bit more. In the era I chose late 1920's-early 1930's (which is still admittedly loose) there is not a single hansom cab to be seen in any of the historic material. From reading, I gather they died out in the early twenties with their heyday being from 1840-1900 or so. I have attached a reference image.

Thank you again everyone!

Cris

The Clarence or Growler was a variant of the Brougham introduced in London in 1840 it became a contemporary of the the Hansom as a London cab. It's greater luggage carrying ability made it popular at railway stations and probably made sure it lasted a bit longer than the Hansom as well. one horse power
two horse power

Absolutely delightful minatures.

Cris;
I greatly appreciate your attention to detail in this diorama. Your little motor cars and horse drawn vehicles are amazing, both in their lifelike proportions and in the fact you are able to build them at all in that size.

When the diorama is finished you will need to ask all of your friends who are beyond a "certain age" to put on their glasses so you will know that they appreciate your fine work.

Hello Friends,

db-sa, thanks for your links of the Growlers, much appreciated! And Thomas, I am very grateful for your kind words! I certainly struggle with these small parts from time to time. And Kevin, they are all teeny. Don't tease us man, give us more details!

Happy Fathers Day!

Kind Regards to All,

Cris

Yeah - those wheels. Please don't tell us you fabricated those from scratch? This is like watchmaking. Can you show us how you did that?
