Nice! POTW! I'm stoked, thanks for alll the nice comments people. Next build I will try and document my steps a little bit more frequent.

I am starting a completely new project. I am going to try and design my own templates. The goal is to build a detailed 1968 Lincoln Continental in the same style as the dump truck.

Step one: work through a 20 hour training dvd for a 3d design program called Blender.

Thanks again!

Michiel

Sticky Mats

It is a wonderful machine which helps me get to new levels of detail and complexity in my models. I am still learning how to use it properly, I am not a fan of the drawing software that accompanies the machine. I merely use it as an interface with the cutter. I do all my file editing using Inkscape, especially when you have your templates in pdf format it makes for real easy editing to prepare the template for cutting.
I have a Zing cutter, and sticky mats can be re-conditioned with repositionable spray adhesive. When one side gets too scratched up, rubber cement remover (benzene) clears off old adhesive, flip mat over, spray that side with repositionable spray adhesive, and it can be used again.

Congrats on a fantastic looking model and a much deserved POTW, I'd love to build one of these in the same scale as my Loader but the thing would be so big I'd have to move to a bigger house to display it.
