This car is little known in the Western world, because to produce and sell only in the USSR and some Eastern Bloc countries. I am familiar with this machine since childhood, they were produced in the Ukraine, where I live now. His real name: LuAZ-969 "Volyn" (ЛуАЗ-969 "Волынь")

If it weren't for paper modeling I would not be familiar with this at all. For a little add-on piece to a diorama I did, I downloaded a very poor model of this car and had to do a lot of kitbashing to bring it up to the standard of the rest of the diorama.

This one would have been perfect (if it were olive drab). Looks like a great model

Thank you! I saw an olive color as an option, but in the army they were few. A civilian version of the nostalgic (for me)

In fact, the model shown is not amphibious, but there were amphibious derivates produced too (LuAZ-967):

Thanks a lot for sharing the pictures of your build with us; for many - if not most - Westerners, the design of these (and other "eastern") vehicles is pretty unusual. I think I remember seeing one, though I'm not sure if it was a 969 or a 967, here in Poland some twelve or thirteen years ago.

Thank you, Tex! In fact, during the Soviet era have created many interesting. Most of these machines today and in good condition.
