My FollowMe Jeep and the Air Force Jeep are both in my Airfield Accessories Kit II (Post War)
Everything is 1/50 scale (rescaleable)

...nice as small diorama parts, but not nearly as accurate as Vlad's model here.
1/32 scale gives you more room for chassis and details.

Thank you, Dave!

Better referred to as "Jeeps"
...since they were produced by Ford, as well as Willys-Overland,
and originally by American Bantam.

You pretty much had to see one closeup to figure out who it was made by.
And even then, you might be wrong.

Eventually Willys adopted the name Jeep,
but didn't produce a publicly available Jeep until after WW2.

Yes, I'm familiar with it. In my case it Ford This decal on the glove box. Just in our area used to call these Jeeps as Willis. Even if it's Ford. Although Bantam different grille ...

Howdy y'all!
Just to throw in my farthing's worth (at best!): As far as I know, "Jeeps" were also made, under license, by Hotchkiss (France), and until not too long ago, by Mahindra (India). As far as I know, the Willys' Jeep (and the Mahindra) had the headlights ON the front grill panel, while the Ford (and Hotchkiss) Jeeps had them BEHIND the front grill panel. Even though the Mahindra-made Jeeps are/were made under license from Willys Overland, the front grill panel looks narrower to me ...
I hope I'm not too wrong ...

No you're not wrong. But you talk about the postwar model of Jeep-CJ2. And there is an Indian version of the Mahindra Jeep-CJ3.

@fmcVLAD:
Thanks a lot for your quick reply! :-) Yeah, the Mahindras were definitely post-war, but they still feature the "flat" hood, at least on the CJ2 ... again, as far as I know.
Got to check out the grill of the Bantam; y'all ARE making me curious! ;-)
Since I never mentioned it in my previous post: GREAT JOB !!!

Hmmm ... after taking a look at google images, I'm plumb dumbfuzzled! I had always thought the Bantam Jeep was "just" a prototype ... ???
