Thumbs up Ford Escort 4X4 Build

Hi ALL
I wan't to firstly apologise for the long absence. I was busy changing jobs, having a baby girl (well not me the wife) and sorting out some personal issues. To start I finished the San Salvador and have sold it to a collector of model ships(hope it's OK sold the finished model and not the kit).
I also in the interim came across a whole box full of model kits and bought the whole lot for R100-00 about $9.35 which is a huge bargain in my eyes. Bought the box at an auction from a person who did not know what it was and thought it to be just normal magazines.
Some of the models in the box are

1. 1/18 Betexa -Hummer
2. Maty Modelarz -fiat 1800
3. 3D Papermodel -Ford Escort 4x4 1997 Monte Carlo Winner
4. Shipyard -Baltimore Clipper in Quay Port 1780
5. Maty Modelarz -1/200 HMS Titanic

This is just a few I have inspected so far there is at least another 30 to 40 models in the box.
I have started the build of the Escort and will give feedback and tips/advice and photo's on the build from tomorrow.
NB! I am making scans of the original kits seeing I do not want to cut or damage the original kits.

Hi Guys
As promised here are some pics of the Escort build so far. I have done the chassis and started with the engine. The colour difference that shows up on the photos of the chassis is because the "cream" colour in the photo is actually white paint. I fill up all unsightly joints and gaps with a white glue and powder mixture which I then sand and then repaint the area.
Tip: There is extra "cover" pieces provided that covers the firewall section inside and out and the bottom of the chassis pan. Most of these do not show or are mentioned in the instruction diagrams but are easy to sort out. All you do is when you finished the chassis is find the corresponding piece, cut it out and glue it over the original piece. It's only there to round everything of and cover some glue tabs.
NB! Will post better quality pics next time

Hi All
Hope all had a good weekend.
As promised some more progress pics on the Escort.
Tip: There is allot of pieces that needs to be build and added that is not mentioned in the build instructions. Most of the instructions concerning the chassis and front and rear suspensions are only one sided. This means only the one side is mentioned, but luckily it is easy to figure out. Just look for the corresponding piece and "bob's your uncle". I have installed the engine and the front suspension and has finished building all the pieces for the diff and rear suspension. I will fix them to the chassis tonight and post the pics tomorrow.
NB! You will notice there is no front shocks (None provided). Will research today on pics if real car and add them (home made).

As promised the next set of pics on the build so far.
As seen I have added my own shocks at the rear and do the same in the front (seeing none was provided for the front). The diff and rear suspension was added and I only need to add the side shafts and front shocks then do some touch ups.
Info: I am using (for those who want to know) the following paints when building my models.
1. Reeves water mixable oil colours - a oil base paint which can be mixed or
thinned with water, very thick consistency and go's a long way only use it for
Matt colours.
2. For gloss or metallics I use Humbroll and Tamiya Paints, have been for many
Years and will probably for many to come.
