Well spotted, Rick. Most unusual for Yamaha to trail their models quite so far ahead. A little odd that they have chosen a machine which has been modelled twice already (though different year variations, of course).

The graphic comparing the Realistic/Ultra Realistic VMAXes is interesting, if a little misleading, as they have compared the more complex of the two "Ultra"s with the oldest and near-simplest "Realistic". The quoted approximate scale of 1:5.5 for the Ultra finally confirms my memory of the advance publicity for the MT-01 way back in 2006, but I think the "1:6" for the Realistic is a bit awry. Even just crudely taking the ratio of the overall lengths given - 44 and 35 cm - gives 1:6.9, so I cling to my idea that the Realistics are closer to 1:7.

Now we just have to wait six months - perhaps time enough for me to return to fighting last year's XTZ850R, which is currently on hold while I figure out how to get the engine and frame to fit.

Alan

Nice find

I've built the less complex versions of this bike. An ultra detailed version will be amazing. I wish other motorcycle makers would do this.
