Olds hood ordament

Here's a strange request.....can someone design a 50's Oldsmobile hood ornament. I have a friend rebuilding a 51 Olds and we were joking around about a paper one because he can't find one for under $150. Just an idea....Rich

Paper? just don't go through the Car Wash! lol

The Rocket is really cool.
I've got a nice aircraft one.
...not sure what its from.
I just bought a new Buick and was thinking of bolting it to the Hood!

Its a shame they stopped doing hood ornaments like this.
Some amazing chrome pieces.

Apparently there was chance of causing injury with the ornament
when you ran over a pedestrian.
Yeah, we wouldn't want that.
Be a shame to get punctured after you are flattened and broken.

Well some would impale you, but I do miss them. Some very cool ones from the 50"s, back when cars had style. Today's cars are aerodynamic but just bland.....Rich

that would be a cool idea for a kit maker to do a Hood Ornament line. some would make nice display models on the wall.

Some really nice ones there - thanks for the link.

I am also sure it would also be a great model line. wonder why someone else has not done it yet?

For years I have made a habit of taking pictures of hood ornaments, names, logo's and other details of vintage cars. I never go to car museums or shows on purpose - part of the fun is in coming across them on holidays, in a parking area, etc. Google images is always helpful in finding make and year of the car in question.
