They are actually gray, not white. Camera issues I guess. I usually add lug nuts from hex rod styrene and will probably do that here. The tread I will just have to live with. the tire parts will probably get a coat of dull coat then dirtied up with a Tamiya weathering kit of appropriate colors.

To do the treads right, I would have had to cut each zigzag strip separate to make a groove. I didn't have it in me to spend the time/energy to do that for this particular model. I have a mixer model with this same basic design, so maybe I'll try that approach there...

Just checked out a truck parked outside. Tires had "errant white marks and shininess" so it seems to me you are good to go and can chalk it up to fair wear and tear.

OBTW - had the annual Truck Nationals show in Carlisle last weekend (https://www.visitcumberlandvalley.co...uck-nationals/). Everything from pick-ups to huge 16 wheelers. Many of them had chromed lugs!

Incidentally, nothing to do with trucks, but 25-28 August will be Corvettes, in case anyone will be within striking distance of Carlisle. https://www.visitcumberlandvalley.co...s-at-carlisle/

So last night I muddied the tires on the truck and used "soot" on the spare from Tamiya weathering sets. These were applied wet and actually covered the errant white marks and cut the shine on the tires.

I decided to forgo the lug nuts though.

And I built up the exhaust. I will color it once everything on it is dry.

Now that's starting to look like one of the stripped out farm trucks down at the farm. The comment above about old tires not being very dark is so true. I think you hit it pretty well

Finished up the frame and running gear assembly this weekend. And I started the cab, beginning with the side walls.

I had to relocate some of the frame mounted items for clearance purposes. Not a big deal.

Also, there are some inconsistencies with some of the parts numbering. I think this is because this model shares common parts with other ones in Answer/Angraf's product line. So far, figuring these parts out has not been too difficult.

Cab walls and floor built up. I'm taking it slow to get the alignment right and using gel superglue for better stick.

I also plan on replacing the steering wheel rim with a rubber washer and the gear shift lever with a pin. Both should improve the look with minimal effort.

Looks like taking it slow paid off. All very precise, and I see the very washer and pin lying athwart their archetypes.

Brilliant! An O-ring for steering wheel, or could be used for any control wheel or even bicycle tires, motorcycle tires. Thanks!

The model is looking good, I did find it for sale on the Orlik Polish site.

Well, for this winter, I ordered the tow truck model and an MB Jeep with trailer, both in 1/25. I'll be watching your progress on this one for sure. Thanks for the inspiration.
