Questions about Mercedes LP 312, Model d-16

More questions.

I completed the Mercedes-Benz 280TE (123 Estate Wagon), Model 26. This time, I tried cutting out the area where the radiator grill fits. Not too successful. Images 1 and 2.

I am slowly working on the Mercedes LP 312, Model d-16, but am encountering difficulties.

As shown in Image 3, I cut out the center section of the main cab, with the understanding that it would fit over the chassis frame. It does, but there is no equivalent cutout at the front, to the cab does not sit squarely on the chassis frame. Image 4.

Furthermore, I am not sure if the area marked with an “x” in Image 5 should be cut out, or where the front extended tabs go (red arrows- Image 6).

Finally, the engine compartment does not line up square with the cab. When both are on flat surface, there is a large v-shaped gap (please to ignore the execrable craftsmanship and cattywumpus axle). Image 7.

I am also at a loss to know how the front bumper goes together (are the two side simply glued together? If so, how do they attach to the truck body, and where?) and what the black rectangles are for. Image 8.

Does the rear bumper go directly beneath the rear of the flatbed, or is it attached to the rear end of the frame? Image 9.

And where do the T-girders, gray rectangles, and (chocks?) go. Image 10

I eagerly await your guidance and recommendations. Meanwhile, I am in the process of building the wheels. I think I have figured out where all the parts go (but am not very good at cutting out very little disks freehand). Images 11-12.

He is letting you know that once again, Volker is doing his advent calender
and I am not sure if the image he posted on facebook, came through on the forum.

I was just thinking about this last night, and the Streetpaper.DE site was down. I was hoping it was in preparation to this year's calendar

The Streetpaper site is up, with one additional model for 2016, a streamlined van, available for download (streetpaper.de). However, my virus checker gives me a warning when I to download the model. Presumably an issue with my computer and Malwarebytes.

2017 is grayed out, but Volker is clearly getting ready for Advent 2017 to begin.

Meanwhile, I still have an incomplete Mercedes auto transporter that has me stumped(Post #291).

Don & VK ... if you look on streetpaper.de under WOHNMOBIL ... you'll see a whole series of 'Streamlined Vans' that Volker has been slowly adding to over the last year. Many of them were featured in the 2015 advent, but there's also many that weren't. There's also quite a few shown that haven't been released yet. Volker likes to play with us all year round, not just at Christmas.

Over here we refer to these Streamlined Vans as Campers or Mobile Homes (depending on size), but I think you might call them RVs.
