Never had a problem all these years in Tennessee with either site.

Big thanks Volker for all the models all these years.

Model 001 completed

Many thanks for this annual event, Volker! I am sorry so many are having access problems. No issue here in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, USA. All five models so far downloaded without drama, and I have made a donation to show my appreciation.

Eye surgery and lecturing preparation have slowed me down, but I have completed the first model . . . twice!

My first attempt turned out to be the Great American Disaster, but I learned some things:

1. The rear axle is shorter to accommodate the dual rear wheels.

2. The front (V) of the chassis has to touch the front of the cab assembly.

3. The side panels are too delicate for me to build the model with them in place, so on the second try I cut them off, then laminated them to the back-up pieces and left a strip at the top to provide more strength when I glued them to the tray assembly.

4. I am still not sure where the fuel tanks go. Presumably behind the cab and under the tray, but the assembly will be open on one side. If no advice from the rest of you, I will use spare material from the first build to close one end and glue them where I think they should go.

Laughsplace - Thanks for your advice, but the extra length of the chassis extension does not reach far enough to glue to the gray tab under the rear license plate.

Tomorrow I will begin on the big multi-part second model.

Don

I am pretty damn certain that the downloading problem is nothing to do with your website pages Volker. Most people are getting the downloads successfully, but there seems to be a problem for Southern hemisphere based people.

Is there anyone in the Southern hemisphere that HAS RECEIVED the downloads? OR is there anyone in the Northern Hemisphere that CAN NOT?

The complaints are all coming from Australasia, Far East and South America. All way below the Equator. Whereas ALL the confirmed downloads are from USA and Europe. It shrieks of being a SatCom problem to me, Possibly deliberate blocking, but having retired from that game 20+ years ago, I wouldn't know where to point any complaints nowadays. Oh yes, us military types were using and blocking SatComs way back in the 80's y'know. Actually, no, you probably didn't. Shhhhhhhh!

Do not get upset by Darter's outbursts. To me he comes across as a petulant kid who cannot conceive that just maybe this interweb thing ain't as perfect as his school mates told him. Living on an island that is situated about as far south as is inhabited by man, it doesn't surprize me that their service can be limited at times. And I'm sure you'll be really worried about not receiving his pocket money donation. Although from what I know of you, you probably will be worrying about anyone getting upset.

Keep 'em coming.

bellach yn gwrando fyny Boyo. Rydych yn gwybod pwy dwi'n siarad.
We have one of the fastest optical fibre broadband services in the world.
I can access any other website in any country including Germany.
Fentens opens in under two seconds. But not volker's.
So you can take your satcom blockage conspiracy theory a'i roi yn eich pibell.
Petulant, thats gair ofnadwy mawr Taffy.
Last time I donated it was $50, still think that is pocket money?
