1910 Harley Davidson Model 6A
I finally finished it, it is a Harley Davidson Model 6A from 1910. I got the plans from here. If you build this one I hope you like descriptions instead of pictures for instructions. I needed to find a bunch of reference photos in order to figure out how good pieces went together. Build pictures can be found here. It is roughly 1/6 scale. I really liked how the wheels and their spokes came out. There are many fiddly bits on this one so it is not for the faint of heart.

That is beautiful, but definitely a few notches above my ability.
Thanks for sharing

I have heard that this one is a difficult build but you have done an absolutely wonderful job here. Kudos!

Thanks. I will say that it is also an extremely delicate model. You aren't going to want to bump it, knock it over, or move it much.

I wonder if a clear varnish would help it to be less 'delicate'

Fantastic job. Those spoked wheels are something to be proud of. The name Thales appears a few times in my family tree - most recently a great uncle who was born around the turn of the 20th century.

Definitely needs a display case to keep all of that work safe. Well done

David:
You did a great job building this bike, even tough you did not have pictures to guide you. Too bad you didn't asked before, because its designer, Alan Grayer, posted his building/design process in our forums. Here Alan's Harley Why not try it again in a different color scheme?? like Dayglo green engine and orange sunburst wheels Best Regards... |
