403 is in paper also there. I did not assemble that. It has some issues with some parts missed if smth. Not critical although. And the bus was a team work. Mine was 3d of the body.

Oh yeah, me too, thank you very much for appraisal)

Tell the secret it appeared way way much easer to make that forms then might seems. So I'm not gonna and showing off like, it is so much of craftsmanship required. )))

Thickness of Aluminum

Modeller,

Thank you for showing your art. Working with 0.005 mil (0.00017 mm) is (in many respects) not as difficult as working with paper - besides, aluminum can be heat annealed returning it to dead soft for more forming work.

What is the thickness of the aluminum you are using?

A follower of your progress,

-Gil

GIL, this is not an alu and even more not of that thicknes. You thought it was baken alu foil? No, that's tin metal from hair spray cans.

I did not told how all was made and performed. Well as far as I understood this is "unique" way ))) (not showing off remember lol ))). I used the Rhinosceros "squish" feature to make patterns from 3d to 2d. Then just build a "cardboard buck" to make the shapes alignments. Just an old good school of metal shaping. And I've got some videos on it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_F8QxEKcHw

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyueK_p4e5Q

Also, i was amused how precise the Rhino made that patterns. The "orange"
part with marked line is what i cuted because of just stretch of the metal while shaping it, but then they were putted together idealy. That line between the trunk and body. And the trunk was build without ready rear part at that time, so nothing was shaped like to fit into the already build one.

Modeller,

No, I didn't think it was "kitchen aluminum foil" but "tooling foil" instead which is around 0.005" thick. You call it "tin metal from hair spray cans". Hair spray cans are made from sheet steel here in the US. If you're woking steel sheet it takes your work to a whole new level. How do you anneal the sheet during the shaping work?
