Bugatti Royale

I think this is my first "modern" car.

The kit is from Alcan and is 1:24 scale, making the model about 9 inches long. It's one of Ettore's one-of series of custom monsters, only about 6 or 7 where made. The unused engines were latter used to power the Paris Metro.

It's quite an easy kit to put together but the major missing part is the Elephant mascot on the radiator. Oh well, you can't have everything ;-)))

Cheers
Mike

Very nice. I built the Alcan Ford stake truck many years ago. It was easy to build and shown well despite it being a simplistic kit.

That really came out nice. Precise work as always. A cardboard backed '20's era fashion model standing next to the car would really set it off. I have several Alcan minis that I bought when I was first getting into card models, and still haven't built a single one. I also have a large scale Alcan Ford Model A (a precursor of the Model T). Someday...

Lighter, nope. Ford's early Model A was built from 1903 to1904. The first mass produced Ford, the famous Model T began production in 1908.

Well, OK. The five million Model A's that most will remember followed the T. Interesting that the first A was only available in bright red.

Mike, nice job on the Royale.

The Alcan Model A was the car that first got me interested in cardmodels since I'd always wanted some really early Fords. Still haven't build it, need to scan it and get it down to 25th scale to match the rest.
