Lancia Stratos

Has anyone ever seen a paper model of a Stratos WITHOUT rally livery? Like a normal road version. Preferably all white, to make recolors easier.

I have about 6 Stratos models...I think they are all by the same designer.
They are all racecars with various liveries.

This one imports easily into Coreldraw as vector art...all separate parts and layers.
I easily removed the colour and markings leaving a white model.

If you can't find another one and want to modify it for your own personal use,
then you could try this one.

Cheers Dave. Like I said, they've all got race or rally liveries. I guess removing colours with Coral Draw or the like might well come easy to a designer like you, but I've never attempted to use Coral Draw. I do have a dabble with Paint.net or The Gimp, but I don't claim to understand more than a small percentage of their capabilities.

However, I would love to learn the dark arts of recolouring. There's plenty of other models in my stash that I'd like to rework as well, but holding the attention span of this worn out chemo shagged brain long enough to do the required study just ain't gonna happen any time soon. My grass needed cutting three weeks back now, but it was only today that I got a couple of the rugrats to carry the lawnmower up to the house, so that ,one day soon maybe, I might figure out why it won't start, but dozing on the conservatory couch just watching the cats and birds playing hide and seek in the long grass is much more appealing, and far less painful.

Honest mate, I'm just not in good enough condition mentally or physically lately. Even sittin' an' snippin' only lasts for about ten minutes before i have to put the scissors down, swing me feet up, and go comatose for half an hour, before I can start again. By which time I've lost track of what I wanted to do anyway. They've had me drugged up to the eyeballs for the last two years now, but I've drawn the line and stopped takin' everything. However, comin' down is a sloooow, painful process. BUT I AM GETTING BETTER, albeit very slowly.

I didn't mean for you to specifically use coreldraw.
I just assumed that you may have used some sort of graphics program.
You mentioned doing recolours.

Everyone here seems to do this and uses some sort of program.
If its like a vector based program, it might import the file and allow you to click and delete stuff.

Gimp is a vector based program...try "importing" the file into a new open document.
And see what happens.

I don't have a problem adding colours to aeas in a design. My problem is in removing them without losing the detail lines. Way back in the 8bit past I have done it the hard way by literally pixel editing, but there's no way I could concentrate enough to do that now. I'll have to dig out the GIMP manual and try to make some sense out of it. Not today though ... it's just turned 0200 hrs here, and my bed is calling loudly.

Remember now ... don't take life too seriously ... you'll never get out of it alive anyway.

Cheers Mikey, but I still didn't spot a Stratos without numbers, adverts and stripes all over it. I tell a lie ... there was a very simple plain red one, but that led down an endless trail of Pinterest sites and ended up at a corrupted PDF.

My email box is offering me something though. Fingers crossed on that one for now.

Received today ... a de-coloured version of the Alitalia Stratos. Many thanks to Bruno Campoli. Now perhaps I can build a plain white one, before maybe attempting to add some colours of my own choice, and then, as is my way, a shrink to go with all my other miniatures.

Honest, I just don't have enough shelf space for all the models I want to display. There's no way I'm interested in moving away from my mountain retreat, and 'er indoors has snaffled the spare room as a sewing room, so shrinking them down is my only answer.

I'm just glad you can build again and even build the small ones.
