Brabham BT 42
Hello
Once I finish the TIE Fighter I wanted another quick build (I thought that in one week I would be done - how naive...). So I move to something more real, the Classic F1. Brabham BT 42 looks like a quick build so why not. I only rescaled it to 1:35 scale. |

And another pictures.
As I said this was meant to be quick... Just after two days of making it I fell ill and didn't fully recover even to this date. So almost after full month I managed to bring myself together enough to achieve any sort of progress. As for the model, to bad that in original the whole engine, suspension and everything thats not part of the bodywork is painted black. In the model it just look like a black hole. And yes, the ignition wiring could be better. Now as i think of it I will either remove it completly or at least try to make it a bit better looking, but this scale... |

Some more pics.
The radiators are a bit to far. Perhaps they should be even mounted a bit higher on the wing support. I found few pictures of the original car in that configuration. It could be also because of configuration testing which arrangement suits best. The wing itself I installed at wrong angle, it was changed just after the glue settled Because I just couldn't stand the all black exhaust I've tried to make it look a bit heated, with not much success I know... And so it is quite new definition of laziness: In a period of one month only seven days to attend to the kit for a total of 18 hours. I know it's far from perfect but if I'd really put my back to it I could have whole bunch of these in about two months. As it is now, with good winds maybe I'll manage one more by the end of the year. How sad :( |

1/35 that's pretty small for an F1 car. Nice job.

Thank You
Yes, some details are quite tiny. But on the other hand completed model in this scale didn't take a lot of place. Same with military vehicles, to make a diorama in 1/24 would require most of the parking lot. Most important You could skip some details and it won't look that bad as with larger scale. |

On that I'm a typical US car modeler, if it isn't 1/25 or (ok we'll go for it) 1/24 it doesn't really exist.

Maybe that's way they are designed in 1/25 in the first place as most common scale.
Anyway we all have our own approach to paper models and that's diversity make it so interesting. |

Amazing job.
Looks so good and detailed that maybe if you put gas in the engine it will run :D

Hello
Thanks but I just put it together, and still it could be done better (ignition wiring for example). But I like the overall finish too. All the best |
