1969 Lotus 49

Hello

While in the middle (or middle to close finish) of making other model I want something done quickly.
I decided to make a classic F1, and not getting into much details.
So from the vastness of www I come up with free Lotus 49 designed by Takayoshi Ichiyama San which can be found here:
Puti F Lotus49 of カードの兵隊 Others
For it's generall simplicity it's very neat with rather detailed engine.
To make it look more real I did some surgery to central part.

I'm watching with a big smile.

Jim Clark's Lotus is what started my interest in F1 at age 6.
I was given a postcard with a picture of Clark's car (I still have it!).

I have sworn to myself that one day I would build this model,
but I still haven't.

Ichiyama makes some great models!

Many of his other vehicles are listed as 1/30, but the F1 vehicles do not specify

I just guesstimated the wheelbase from his photos,
and applied it to the real thing (95" wheelbase).

As it is non color printout it need to be painted.
I wouldn't have patience for some original livery so I went a bit over the edge
Air intakes for oil coolers and engine are scratchbuilt, based on mid 70's F1. There was no Lotus 49 in this configuration taking part in GP.

Morning

Paper is 80 grade in this one but I also use 160.
Cardboard is 0,5 mm - pizza box.

Any chance to see the scan or just a photo of that postcard with Jim Clark car?
Lucky You.

I always remembered F1 from Matchbox or Majorette catalogues.
There was a poster hung by my father, perhaps of a Ferrari, I don't remember.
But when I saw The Rush
Man, the nostalgy kick big time
