Citroen 2CV in 1/24
Cardboard modeling presently is at a hiatus for me, because I got an awful lot to do elsewhere.
Still, quite recently a friend of mine celebrated her 45th birthday and she still fondly remembers the old 2CV she used to ride as a young lady. Thus, gifting her with a model of it was quite natural. This model is a free download from paperxm. Those kits are in 1/32, I enlarged one to 1/24th scale. They don´t come with any building instructions. Don´t expect anything too fancy, their main appeal is in the neat graphics, not the surface details. I may publish a complete building report of another one in the future. Details I added: - Separate tail lights; - Separate windscreen wipers; - Fuel filler cap; - Exhaust pipe; - Printed black patches on the inner side of the wheel arches, looks a lot better right now. The result is not too shabby, what do you think? Cheers, Martin

Looks great! I've always liked classic French cars.
You can add license plate too. Would be much cooler.

Many thanks, Martin!
I never tire of seeing 2CVs and models thereof. When we lived in Japan 1987-90, we frequently visited Tokyo, and I used to see a superb 2CV in the Roppongi neighborhood: two-toned steel gray with a walnut dashboard/instrument panel. I lusted after that car in my heart. I have downloaded all the simple, but pretty, 2CVs from this site and hope soon to build the two-tone gray one. On a WHIM, I Googled "2CV Roppongi" and came up with this review of the restaurant Pignon: "The owner-chef Rimpei Yoshikawa of Pignon is anything but a typical Tokyo French chef. He drives an old Citroen 2CV better suited to 1960s Paris than the outer fringes of Shibuya." https://www.japantimes.co.jp/places/.../#.W2iE5K-0XIU Different neighborhood and Rimpei Yoshikawa was probably not yet born when I was gazing lovingly at the Roppongi 2CV. Thanks for your friendly comments, comerades!
@Butelczynski: I did not know this big collection. Definitely for the collectors. "Some more" Citroen HY: Les PDF des Citroën HY - A superbly detailed HY in 1/24th scale: PAPEROOM: CITROEN HY My next 2CV may be the "Sahara", which featured four wheel drive by using 2 separate engines! This kit can be downloaded from the same site as the Charleston, which is the subject of this thread. Gallic quirkyness at it´s best! Cheers, Martin

As announced, I built the 2CV "Sahara" and I think it is one of the most unusual and attractive versions of this car. Not much to say about it, with some thoughtful building it just goes together really well. More 2CVs to come as soon as time permits.
The last picture shows my present "flock of ducklings". Cheers, Martin

What a wonderful collection of 2CVs!
I have a friend and colleague, back in the days of the Soviet Union, drove a 2CV across the USSR, starting in Helsinki. Don |

Nice 2CV's. Haven't finished any (that applies to about everything) yet, but have several in paper and plastic.

The Sahara is the 4X4 2CV. The second engine is in the boot, which is why the spare wheel moves to the bonnet! Both engines had some separate controls (starters etc) but the main controls were linked. See Picture below.
The gear shift in the 4X4 was floor mounted, as opposed to the normal dashboard mount. In Kenya, a friend had one we used to use offroad in the bush. It actually was better off road then the classic SWB Landrover. Later I used Renault 4, and then a Renault 4 Sinpar (again a 4X4). Also, a stunning little off-road vehicle that went anywhere and was light enough to lift at one end with a couple of people. The bog standard R4 was also great offroad. A Sinpar was used in the Pais-Dakar in (I think) 1980 or thereabouts.

Classic car
I have seen many Citroen 2CV car and had opportunities to be in some as a kid. I always liked the corrugated look of the body. Even their early vans were corrugated sheet metal sides.
When I lived in Tokyo ( Daikan Yama ), there were cars that were displayed and for sale. Here is a Citroen 2CV example. Yours for an approx. equivalent of $30,000 USD back in 2013. Isaac
