This was done for Cardboard Warriors, a gaming community. And the gamers do scale oddly. This would be approximately a 28mm to 30mm 'scale'. Very approximately. I made a standing figure of the driver, and scaled him to 28mm from base of foot to the eyeline, based on the head, arms and torso of the driver. I've read that 28mm to 30mm is approximately 1/56 scale.
That was a long answer to get to 1/56, but I wanted you to know that it is very roughly 1/56

A skilled model builder friend of mine in Hawaii build his extensive model railway in 1/55 scale, modifying S and O gauge proprietary equipment and scratch building as necessary. I admired his craftsmanship, but felt this was really rail modeling the hard way. Your wagon would have fit in almost perfectly.
