Modelik Willys jeep in 1:10 scale

Hi everyone,

I bought this kit about 15 years ago, and didn't build it becuae it's too small.
About half a year ago, I decided to up-scale it to 1:10 (length of 13cm vs 33 cm). This size i can handle, but it required a lot of work with an old image editting software and a lot of arranging of parts on the sheets, to save paper.
Had to reprint some parts because sometimes the printer software (page setup)
went back to the default options without me noticing that.

I have almost 80 images to show you.

The polish-written instructions were not for me, and the drawings where not always clear. So I found on the net a couple of build reviews, and they helped me a lot.

In one review, the builder had the same problem with one part that I had.

Enlarging and printing of most parts was okay, except one long rolled tube.
In order to fit it on an A4 sheet, I had to recall that over 40 years ago, I studied Trigonometry in high school, and only now I had some use of those highschool studies. I needed to place the unrolled tube diagonaly on the sheet and had to find the angle of rotation.

Other than these, the build was easy, and I completed the kit in less then five months.

I have almost 80 images, so I'll upload some of the now and more tomorrow.

Enjoy.

Forth batch of images

Forth batch of images.

There are some minor misalignments, because I thought that I needed to laminate some parts in a double thikness than the instructions called for, as part of the upscaling of the kit. As soon as I figured this out, I stopped the extra lamination of parts.

I started working on Modelik's M35A2 truck, also in 1:10 scale and that would be about 70 cm long.

Looks good!

Wouldn't have thought of that being a 24-25 scale builder, but as the eyes are getting a bit worse and the fingers not as dexterous may become an option.

I've seen plenty of Jeep models
...yours is a nice build.

But you built it in BIG scale! I love it!
Well done.
33cm....thats 13 inches!...wow, nice.

...
The other day I visited the local Military Museum to get some reference photos for a current project.
And they have a wonderful looking wartime Jeep in their collection.

Very nicely done.

I also think 1:25 may be difficult for some. So this big scale makes for an easier build.
And it still looks great.

I can't notice the misalignment you mention.
And after all, this vehicles were rustic and were subject to some hard treatment.
So your build actually has a natural look.
